Editorial Standards

How our content is researched, written, reviewed, and kept current.

Our promise

DayCents exists to help people make money decisions with confidence. That only works if our content is accurate, clear, and independent. Every guide is written to answer a real question directly, in plain English, and is backed by the same tested calculation engine that powers our tools.

How content is produced

  • Every article has a named author and an assigned topic based on real search demand.
  • Claims are grounded in primary sources — the IRS, CFPB, Federal Reserve, SSA, and other official or peer-reviewed references — cited at the bottom of the page.
  • Numbers and examples are produced by our calculation engine, not typed by hand, so the math in an article matches the math in the corresponding tool.

Review and accuracy

As we grow, money-sensitive content is reviewed by qualified reviewers with relevant credentials before it is published, and each article carries the date it was last reviewed. We are building a roster of named, credentialed experts (such as CFP® and CPA professionals) and will not present anyone's credentials that we cannot verify.

Independence and disclosure

Our editorial content is independent of any commercial relationship. When a page contains affiliate links or sponsored content, we disclose it clearly and near the point of interaction. Compensation never influences our rankings, ratings, or the substance of our advice.

Keeping content current

Personal finance changes — rates move, tax rules update, limits rise. We track a review date for every article and revisit content on a schedule (sooner for tax and rate-driven topics) so what you read reflects the current year, not the year it was first written.

Not financial advice

DayCents publishes educational information and tools. Nothing here is individualized financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. For decisions with major consequences, consult a qualified professional who knows your full situation.
